Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal Award Recipient
Rankin Inlet, Nunavut

Commissioner Edna Elias, Premier Eva Aariak and Rankin Inlet MLA Lorne Kusugak presented Veronica Manilak with a Diamond Jubilee medal for her contribution to art and culture on January 25 in Rankin Inlet. Veronica Manilak is known for sewing beautiful tapestries, for helping to keep traditional Inuit songs alive and is an active member of the Rankin Inlet Elders traditional drum dancing group. She sang a traditional song at the opening of the Rankin Inlet Healing Facility.
